- Books that are torn, water-damaged, missing pages or in otherwise poor condition. Please save us the trouble by discarding these at home.
- Encyclopedias. Unfortunately, few people want encyclopedias in this internet age. And we have no space to store them until the very rare customer requests a set.
- Outdated magazines. We can only sell magazines within four weeks (if a weekly)
or four months (if a monthly) of their publication date.
Thank you for understanding.
How To Donate?
Friends of the Library accepts boxes and bags of donations — even single items — during bookstore hours (listed top right). If you have an exceptionally large donation (10 or more containters), please call us ahead of time at 949.459.5524. We need to make arrangements for extra volunteers to help process large donations.
Friends of the Library is a 501c(3) tax-exempt organization so every donor is entitled to claim a tax deduction for usable donations.
Have Any Spare Change?
Friends of the Library keeps a donation box on the front desk. If spare change is weighing down your purse or pocket, we'd be delighted to take it off your hands!
In Memorium
If you would like to make a donation to benefit the Rancho Santa Margarita Public Library in honor or memory of a loved one, please contact our bookstore manager.
